Quingshui Zhushi Temple has long been reputed as the “Art Gallery of the East”, featuring architectural carvings of stone. Of the many glamorous stone carvings in the temple, the 20 pillars of stepping stone carvings are the most eye-catching. Among them, the “triple-layer duo dragon pillar”, “flower and bird pillar” and “birds on plume pillar” are most worthy of time and delicate appreciation. The Quingshui Zhushi Temple underwent three renovations which were long and laborious. This majestically grand temple came with its share of effort and ingenuity.

The intricate woodwork carvings make visitors linger. Wall paintings or wood carvings inspired by classics such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms and The Story of the Stone all came from master artists, infusing the temple with stories in every corner.
