Shui Liu Jiao No. 68 began as a local grocery store. The owner was environmentally minded, and she decided to apply this principle to her daily life by recycling cooking oil to make soap. To integrate her idea with the local tea industry she ground up tea seeds, which are rich in the foaming chemical saponin, and then added Pouchong tea oil to craft one-of-a-kind tea soap. The finished soap was effective at softening and moistening the skin and was a truly local product. Now people who visit the factory can try DIY soap making. The 40-minute activity is well-liked by tourists and families.Note: Tea soap making is fee-based.
