New Taipei City Government hosted the Book Launch Press Conference today (17th), where 5 experts on Tamsui Kavalan Trails shared their thoughts on the newly published book as, for the first time, a graphic recorder simultaneously noted down to display the characteristics of the new book. New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi noted that, “It is Taiwan’s first long-distance hiking trail, which is filled with history and local sentiments. And of course, the hiking trail is guaranteed to provide enough amount of workout.” It took 18 months of planning and editing, Tamsui-Kavalan Trails – North Path is Taiwan’s first travel book on Tamsui Kavalan Trails. Renowned nature writer Liu Ka-shiang pointed out, “Immediately after finishing the book, I just couldn’t wait to be on the road again to visit the century-old campus where I had spent parts of my school years.” After the pre-order began three weeks ago, it has already been receiving great response from the readers; and the first printing was almost sold out in 10 days.

This book has also collaborated with K!d Jerry, an illustration artist who had been nominated for Grammy’s “Best Recording Package”, and seedesign that owns a large group of followers to draw out collectable pull-out maps and hand sketched illustration. At the press conference, renowned nature writer Liu Ka-shiang, XXO founder Michael Hu, and the rest of the contributors were all invited to share their thoughts on the newly published book. For the first time, graphic recorder Li Chia-yi also simultaneously put in drawing to display the special quality of the new book.
