Japanese Came Across the Sea for the Shooting Scene in New Taipei City Romantic Sky Lantern Scene in Jingtong, Pingxi Made Leap to the Big Screen in Japan.

[New Taipei city] According to the result of "Top 10 Foreign Tourists' Most Favorite Scenic Spots in Taiwan", a survey made by Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, 4 of the most favorite scenic spots are located in New Taipei City, Pingxi, Jiufen, Yehliu and Tamsui. "New Taipei City Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival" that attracts innumerable tourists from both nationwide and worldwide every year has frequently won international recognitions and recommendations. Last year (2016), National Geographic Magazine recommended Pingxi as the "World's 10 Best Winter Trips". In addition, the natural and humanity landscapes of the mountain town in Pingxi area has become a travel destination with multiple features of festivities, tours and delicacies, the tourists from both nationwide and worldwide are able to pay visits without seasonal restrictions in more diversified and liberal methods. Furthermore, they will be the testimonies to the international visibility and glamorous tourism in Pingxi area, New Taipei City and Taiwan.

Today (October 25), film-shooting crew of the movie "You're the Apple of My Eye" (Japanese version) make their special visit crossing the sea to the shooting scenes of Pingxi Old Street and Jingtong Station in New Taipei City. It's the first Taiwan movie remade by Japan, and the famous Japanese actor Yuki Yamada and Saito Asuka, who is one of the three Japanese most hierarchical celebrities jointly reproduced the Chinese version movie, and the classic scenes of romance shot in Pingxi will reappear; the movie will bring back sweet and bitter memories for innumerous members of the audience. It will also bring another wave of pure, youthful love will be once again arouse.

"You're the Apple of My Eye" (Japanese version) directed by Yasuo Hasegawa is estimated to debut in Japan in 2018. The role of lead male character Ko Ching-teng is played by the famous Japanese actor Yuki Yamada, who has drawn a large group of fans and is best known for his works, episode drama "It Started With a Kiss: Love in Tokyo 2013" and movie "Tomorrow I Will Date with Yesterday's You). As to the role of Taiwan's goddess Shen Chia-yi is played by the member of a popular girl's group Nogizaka 46 Saito Asuka, who is 19 years old and joined film shooting for the first time. Saito Asuka is praised as "the pretty girl chosen by god" by Japanese media. She is enlisted the three of the most famous Japanese celebrities with Hashimoto Kanna and Hirose Suzu.

The Tourism and Travel Department of New Taipei City Government proactively engaged in the coordination with the Film Assist & Development Center of New Taipei City and provided real-time administrative contacts and assisted in location scouting. Thanks to the Film Assist & Development Center for the assistance in the Jingtong Station and the Pingxi Shidi Bridge available for film shooting; also, the location availabilities provided by Pingxi Police Station, Sky Lantern Police Station and Pingxi District Office are appreciated. Moreover, the Tourism and Travel Department especially invited Japanese film crew and up to 15 accompanying media reports to an actual on-site visit in Pingxi area for experiencing the scenes captured in the movie, Pingxi railway and Old Street. Additionally, they had a joint experience of setting off sky lantern, visited the world's one-of-a-kind "Sky Lantern Police Station" and wrote themselves best wishes on the sky lantern postcards. Seeing their wishes dazzling on the electric sky lantern, gazing at the lantern that bears their wishes rising slowly, all people on site gave their testimony to Pingxi's international tourism glamor.

New Taipei City Government took this great opportunity for promoting tourism, and New Taipei City Good Tea was presented and given away to the Japanese film crew and the media as souvenirs welcoming their visits to New Taipei City. Tourists from both nationwide and worldwide are also welcome to experience the beauty of New Taipei City. The Department of Cultural Affairs also indicated that international film shooting crew are welcomed to make location scouting in New Taipei City; and the Film Assist & Development Center will provide services including information of the shooting scenes, application of film-shooting location and assistance during film-shooting process.
